About Zarate Sensei

The Zarate Sensei Karate-Do Initiative was founded in 2021 by the Zárate Pinzón family, following the passing of Fernando Zárate. The program aims to support children from vulnerable communities in Bogotá, Colombia, by providing free karate lessons that help them develop discipline, confidence, and essential life values. As the program has grown, the family is registering the charity in 2024 to ensure sustainability and expand its impact.

Our Objectives

  • Increase awareness of the benefits of karate as a tool for positive social change in vulnerable communities

  • Contribute to the holistic development of individuals, instilling values not only through sports but also by promoting academic excellence

  • Provide support for children to pursue higher education or become professionals in Karate

  • Provide free karate lessons, refreshments, and academic support

  • Create partnerships with local organizations in Colombia to support children’s development

  • Reach out to Canadian organizations to get economic support
